How Do I Get There?

The international pass Pino Hachado is located east in the province of Neuquén, in northern Patagonia at an altitude of 1500 meters.

H & H (as we call ourselves) is located 3 km from the Argentinean-Chilean border, just 500 m off the main road and 49 km from Las Lajas. The pass connects us with our Chilean neighbors and is just 210 km from the Temuco airport and 350 km from Pucon.
The closest airport in Argentina is Neuquén, 300 km from H & H. The closest town is Las Lajas, 49 km from H & H. If you follow road 23 for another 50 km in the direction of Villa Pehuenia, you arrive in the region of lakes with the famous lakes Lago Moquehue and Lago Aluminé.

This unsealed road is accessible most of the year but may require chains during the winter months.
From Villa Pehuenia 250 km farther along the Ruta Siete Lagos, you come to San Martin de los Andes and then to Bariloche.

Transfer: Any transfer can be arranged for border crossing to Chile or to any destination within Argentina. Please contact the property for more information.

Located in the province of Neuquén in Argentina, in the middle of the majestic Andes mountain range and close to the international border, you will find the Horses and Huskiy de los Pehuenes homestead in Pino Hachado.

The international border connects us to the XI region of Chile. The Temuco airport is only 210 km away and Pucòn, a town renowned for its beauty and surrounded by lakes, green forests and Lonquimay Volcano, is only 70 km farther. It is at this latitude that the Patagonia region of South America begins. Here the Andes can reach a height of 2000 meters. Together with the flat plains known as pampas and the unique Araucaria forests (the Araucaria trees are known as the Pehuen by the indigenous Mapuche), it makes for a spectacular panorama that invites you to make the most of these surroundings on horseback over the summer months or as the musher of your own husky team during winter.

Horses and Huskies de los Pehuenes (H & H) is built on a plateau within the mountain range and gives a beautiful view of the valleys below. It is within walking distance of a dormant volcano where the endangered condors of South America soar.

To ensure you make the most of the tranquility of this isolated area, we offer rustic cabins that have been ecologically handcrafted using local stones and timber. Please note that there is no electricity within a 50 km radius, so cabins do not have refrigeration facilities during the warmer months. You should ensure cold food is therefore correctly stored. Ice packs can be borrowed from the main home. Accommodation can be a combination of cabin and camping stay. Consult host for details.

Our comfortable home restaurant is open both to the public as well as guests of the homestead cabins. We feature typical Argentinean cuisine and regional wines, and you can enjoy these meals either in the main house by the fire, outside or in the comfort of your cabin.

All horse riding and husky tours of more than 1 day are all inclusive, including accommodation in shared cabins or tents, all meals, soft drinks and wine and beer during evening meals. We would be happy to help you organize other local activities, such as trekking, mountain biking, rock climbing, snowshoeing, Alpine and Nordic skiing and vineyard and other local tours.
