How Do I Get There?

From Johannesburg it is recommended to head East out of Johannesburg and using the N12, N4, R540, R36 R527 to The Ndlovumzi Private Nature Reserve.

Follow signs for N12 Witbank.

Stay on the N12 for approximately 112 KM before you merge Merge onto the N4.

Stay on the N4 for approximately 85KM take the R33 Exit heading north toward Belfast.

Turn right onto Steven Masango St Then continue onto the R540. 

After approximately 90KMs turn right on the R36 heading toward Ohrigstad you will go past Ohrigstad and later through the J G Strydom (Strijdom) Tunnel.

Continue on the R36 until it becomes the R527. After 3.7KM on the R527 you will pass Mad Dogz Cafe on your left.

Continue past the cafe for another 7 KM and you will see signposts for Liverpool and Ndlovumzi Private Nature Reserve. Take this left which takes you onto our gravel access road.

You will now be on a gravel road for approximately 10KM. 

Stay on this Gravel road until you reach the entrance gate for Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve.

Come, relax and enjoy the very special bush retreat. Southern Sands Eco Lodge have two very well appointed safari tents set on the banks of the world famous Oliphants River. The property is located in the Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve near the Safari town of Hoedspruit.

The special reserve is home to a range of plains game including Giraffe, Wildbeest and Zebra. The reserve is perfect for those wanting to walk or cycle with the animals and if you are looking for the big 5 we are close enough for a day trip to Kruger Park too!

The property is based on a very large riverside plot. The two safari tents are spaced well away from each other, with plenty of room for privacy. As well as being perfect for couples we are a family friendly lodge. Southern Sands Eco Lodge provides everything, from cots to high chairs, to help you and your family enjoy your stay. The property has a large solar heated and naturally filtered swimming pool and a children's splash pool. Next to the pool is a large well equipped lapa that guests are welcome to use. This area has a braai, a firepit and cooking facilities for our guests to enjoy.
