    All canceled reservations received 7 or more days prior to arrival are subject to a 10% cancellation penalty.

    Reservations canceled within 6 days of the scheduled arrival date are subject to a penalty equal to the cost of 1 nights stay.

    Pets are welcome!

    • Dogs are always welcome for a fee of $50/one dog or $75/two dogs per night charge. If you are traveling with a pet, please let us know ahead of time so that arrangements can be made.
    • A maximum of TWO dogs are allowed per room.
    • Please clean up after your pet and properly dispose of any waste. Each tent is equipped with an outdoor shower that can be of use.
    • Pets are not to be left unattended in the rooms. If you do leave your pets in the room, THEY MUST BE CRATED.
    • Please keep your pets off the bed, as any bedding damaged beyond reasonable cleaning attempts will be subject to a replacement fee.

How Do I Get There?

If you're coming from Austin, please see the directions below:

  • Take Highway TX-71 East/US-290
  • Continue on TX-71 East – you’ll pass the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
  • Merge onto TX-130 S – approximately 31 miles
  • Take the Exit toward TX-80S – 0.3 miles
  • Turn left onto TX-80S – 2.1 miles
  • Turn right onto FM 20 W/State Park Rd – you’ll see a Stripes gas station and that is where you turn right
  • You’ll continue on FM 20 W/State Park Rd and you’ll cross the San Marcos River
  • On your left-hand side is a nice-looking gravel/dirt road with an iron gate. This is the gate to enter the property and is located between what looks like Sugar Cane. Wahwahtaysee Resort will have the gate open for you. Once you drive through the gate, continue about 500 feet on the gravel road where the road curves to the left through some trees. Just as you come out of the trees, you will see a smaller gravel road going off to the right. Take that right turn and drive down the smaller gravel road for a short distance and you will arrive at the safari tents.

The safari tents -- which were made in South Africa -- feature all the amenities of a five-star resort. The bedroom boasts a king-size bed, along with a queen sleeper sofa in the living room for additional guests. The modern bathroom comes with a large shower and a spa bathtub. Luxury linens, bedding, and towels are provided. A kitchenette comes equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and a coffeemaker, as well as a dining area to enjoy your meals. With air conditioning, heating, and hardwood floors, you’ll enjoy all the comforts of a five-star resort, while surrounded by beautiful nature. The spacious living area extends outdoors onto the expansive deck where you can truly disconnect from day-to-day life and reconnect with the great outdoors. There is outdoor furniture and a hammock, providing the perfect spot for relaxing with a book or a morning cup of coffee while nature provides a soothing soundtrack. There is also an outdoor shower for a truly unique experience. Lastly, there is a Green Egg to grill your own meals.
