How Do I Get There?

Ferry and Drive:

Daily high-speed ferry service (The Cat) from Portland, Maine to Yarmouth International Ferry Terminal. Trout Point Lodge is about a 40 minute drive from the Ferry Terminal.

Bay Ferries provide daily service between St. John, New Brunswick and Digby, Nova Scotia. Digby is about an hour's drive from the resort.

Fly and Drive:

Halifax International Airport lies about 3 hours north of the lodge and has all major rental car agencies.

For the current moment, Trout Point recommends taking the route using Hwy. 101 rather than the South Shore route using Hwy 103 due to the deteriorated condition of Hwy 203 between Shelburne and Trout Point. If already travelling the South Shore, Trout Point is about 45 minutes from the Shelburne/Ohio exit off of Highway 103, the route south from Halifax. Take the road towards the Ohios.

Nestled in the Tobeatic Wilderness Area in the heart of a UNESCO Biosphere, Trout Point Lodge is a quintessential wilderness lodge & nature retreat and an unsurpassed eco destination for enjoying the Canadian backwoods. It offers Nova Scotia's most memorable vacation experiences including outdoor adventure, forest bathing, stargazing, culinary classes & romance in the wilderness packages - with whale watching, sea kayaking, scenic beaches, historic towns, and engaging museums nearby.

Trout Point is Canada's only member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection and rated 5 stars by Canada Select. It also features some of Canada’s best Dark skies for stargazing and is the World's first Starlight hotel certified by UNESCO partner Starlight Foundation.

The main lodge, qualified as a 5 star Nova Scotia Inn, boasts a rustic feel. The dim lights mixed with various types of wood make it seem as if you were in a true hunting lodge in the midst of the woods and snow.

Positioned so that every room, suite, and cottage boasts river views in its 100 acre property, a Trout Point vacation allows you to forget the cares of the outside world. It is perfect to celebrate that special occasion or simply for a relaxing getaway to rejuvenate and inspire!
