How Do I Get There?

Your GPS may take you through the West Bank which includes a short ferry ride. Please know, the ferry leaves at the top and half of each hour (It costs $1 and is cash only – they do not accept bills larger than $10). Make a right when you get off the ferry and Stella Plantation is 2 miles down the road on the left.

If arriving from the airport it is suggested that you don’t take the ferry.

You’ll see the house on your left and then soon after a sign that reads “ Paloma Lake " – turn left there and park at the office. Someone will guide you.

Paloma Lake is set on 1500 acres of picturesque landscape in Braithwaite, Louisiana, just 20 miles from downtown New Orleans. The plantation is over 200 years old and stands out along the Mississippi River. There is plenty to do during your time at Paloma Lake with the seasonal or year-round activities such as skeet shooting, hunting packages, crawfish farming, fishing, and many other activities.

Paloma Lake has a 53-acre private lake on property. On the lake sit five brand-new waterfront A-frame cabins with cypress walls, heart pine floors, an 80-foot composite bamboo deck, and a 50-foot screened in porch. Each cabin is solar powered and finished with a queen-sized bed, night stands, fans, phone chargers, lights and more. At the site are individual showers and restrooms, fire pits, and a large dining/activity area for all guests to enjoy. From lawn games to water sports, you can stay as busy or as relaxed as you’d like during your stay at Paloma Lake.

Paloma Lake, previously known as Stella Plantation is a working plantation situated at the lowermost part of the Mississippi River as it nears the end of its journey through the heart of the country. Today Paloma's fields are used to grow satsuma and navel oranges, kumquats, lemons, grapefruit and pecans. The diverse 1500 acres that make up the plantation feature lush marshes, cypress trees, crawfish ponds and forests home to diverse wildlife.
