How Do I Get There?

Bournemouth Airport is the nearest international airport.

SatNav postcode: DT6 6RW.

Directions: From the A35 West from Charmouth, take the first turn marked Whitchurch Canonicorum. Once you are in the village, you will see a pink thatched cottage on the left hand corner. Drive straight ahead (or if you are on the A35 East, take the first turn at the art gallery and turn right at the pink cottage). Approximately 250 yards on the opposite of the Beerhayes holiday cottages, turn left onto Gassons Lane. Stay on this lane and do not turn off! There are six amazing canvas cottages and each model boasts wooden floors, handmade wooden furniture and all the culinary equipment you need in a kitchen unit, including plates, pots, pans and refrigeration. King-size beds are included in each cottage as well, adorned with Egyptian cotton bedding and towels.  There's a lockable chest for valuables, solar lights with USB outlets for charging your devices and candles for your lanterns. A wood burning stove brings a toasty glow and the first container of wood is complimentary. Outside, your own private deck is complete with a gas BBQ. Cottages have their own eco-friendly en suite bathroom with an instant hot water shower, a sink with hot and cold running water and a composting toilet.

While all of the canvas cottages are off-grid, the Glampotel Bridport is located within a traditional touring park, so there are facilities on site for laundry, bathing and hair-drying, plus additional bathrooms should you require them. There is also a convenient, on-site shop. The spa has experienced staff members who can pamper you with services such as manicures, pedicures, massages and alternative therapies without even leaving the campsite!

Inside Scoop

  • Included in the Rates: Complimentary toiletries, bedding and towels and tea and coffee.

  • The coast itself is around 25 minutes in the car, with West Bay one of the closest hot spots, a fishing harbor adjacent to a fine shingle and sand beach sheltered by imposing sandstone cliffs. The cliffs attract walkers along the dramatic coastal path, while the wide beach is popular with children for building sandcastles and exploring rock pools. Slightly to its east is one end of the ginormous Chesil Beach, an 18-mile-long, perfectly straight, geographical oddity of a beach, while to the west, Lyme Regis features a pleasant, sheltered sea front and picturesque harbor.
