Kerry met his wife on a white water raft trip and then spent his honeymoon crossing Costa Rica’s back roads in a rented Suzuki Sidekick, fording rivers and navigating mountain roads in the dead of night, developing a taste for off road adventure. He has since taken his wife & two boys across Costa Rica, Guatemala, Belize and the Western United States, favoring the road less traveled.

   Formerly a promotions producer for NBC & CBS affiliates, he now contributes features to national and regional magazines covering a wide range of topics including sports, health, arts, media and entertainment, but is most enthusiastic about outdoor recreation and adventure travel. It’s his personal mission to discover authentic, culturally based travel experiences to inspire reluctant travelers to break out of the prepackaged travel mindset and immerse themselves in real world experiences. He lives in Crystal Lake, Illinois, with his wife and two boys, where they plot their next adventure.
