How Do I Get There?

You can drive into the campsite.

The last 2 km of road is a unkept dirt track that is full of potholes, bumps and turns. It can actually be quite fun to drive, but it is recommended to have a car with a little clearance.

The nearest airport is the Queenstown international airport
There are a few shuttles that between Wanaka and queenstown.

Transportation to the property is possible by taxi, however the property recommends guests hire a car (with some clearance) as the road is quite rough and out of town.

Coordinates to the camp are not released until we have a booking.

Mt Gold

Rates Starting at $255.00/ night

The Mt Gold site is awesome. It is located on the top of a hill where you are rewarded with fantastic 180 degree views over Lake Wanaka. The site is nestled in amongst some pine trees, so it’s nice and sheltered and well hidden from public view. (Please note however the walk from your car takes about 5-8 minutes and is up a steep and slippery trail. A moderate level of fitness and good walking shoes are required.)

At Mt Gold we have decorated the tent in our Otago Safari Theme. Soft colours, sheepskin rugs, mink throws, antique furniture mixed in with stylish modern decor. It’s adorable and very cosy. We have also decorated the tent in fairy lights which will magically light up when it gets dark and our eccentric mix of LED candles, lanterns and solar lights will turn your evening into a magical wonderland at night.

We have paid very close attention to detail and ensured our guests are provided with everything they need to make this holiday truly hassle free.

The bathroom facilities are very cute. We designed our own high quality canvas tents and had them made here in New Zealand. The toilet is a flushable portable loo and the shower is powered by gas hot water and flows at a rate of 10L per minute. No solar showers here!

In keeping with the landscape we decided that in amongst all the glamor we would keep some things rustic, therefore we have chosen a site which has had little influence from man. The land is typically dry and golden underfoot and native scrub abounds. The rabbits have really taken to the area and will be frequently seen nibbling the grass nearby. The land is by no means flat, which is why we recommend good footwear, but it’s the ideal place to come glamping.

Access to the site is also for the adventurous. You can choose to Mountain Bike, Kayak, or drive to your site.

Wilding Pines

Rates Starting at $460.00/night

Our Wilding Pines site is fantastic. Located part way up a hill (3min walk from your car), and nestled in amongst a sheltering grove of wilding pines, it’s an idyllic setting. The views from the campsite and even from your bed are stunning – across the lake to the peninsula with the glorious, dramatic Mt Gold in the background.

At Wilding Pines we have fitted out two luxury lotus belle tents and a tree tent so this site is perfect for 2-3 couples or one or two small families. One tent is fitted out in our Summer Art Deco theme. Bright cheerful colours, fun patterns, pineapples and parrots, it’s all here. It’s a fun environment to kick back and relax in. The second tent is decorated in our Aztec Indian Theme. Warm colours, feathers and dream catchers,  and fun patterns abound. The hammock tree tent sits approx. 1.4 meters off the ground between three trees and comfortably sleeps three. It is likened to sleeping on a well-filled water bed, not much movement, just a gentle bounce. The maximum weight it can support is 400kg. Sleeping bags, liners, and a pillow are provided as we believe this tent is best suited to children… and we all know kids love sleeping bags.

As dusk approaches fairy lights will magically light up and our eccentric mix of LED candles, lanterns and solar lights work together seamlessly to create an ambient, romantic and fun atmosphere.
