Riverside Sanctuary Retreat is a very special private retreat—a place to relax, recharge and dream. A lovingly hand carved eagle representing the local aboriginal creator spirit, Bunjil, welcomes and watches over guests at the front of the building. The hexagon cabin is beautifully rustic, environmental, basic and off-grid. Every detail has been lovingly created, some from reused materials, admits a private, lush, natural setting of ferns, flowers and tall trees that stretch to the sky—a lovely little forest setting. Surrounded by forests and rivers, you feel an extraordinary sense of peace and well-being envelop you when you arrive.
Nearby are the myrtle beech rainforests, the 300-year-old Ada Tree, a tall mountain ash, one of the world's largest known flowering trees. One of the best wildlife sanctuaries in Australia is a 20-minute drive away—the Healesville Sanctuary with unique Australian wildlife. The Sanctuary is 2 km from the main part of the Warburton village including cafes, shops, country cinema/theatre, bus stop, river walks and more. A bus takes you to points of interest including wineries, lavender and lotus farms and other villages.
